Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Substance Use Disorders (SUD): Virtual: July 19, 2022

This virtual training is being sponsored by the HHSC Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Programs. SUD contractors have priority for this training.

This virtual training will review the basic core components of CBT and present modifications for implementation in substance use treatment programs. Participants will become familiar with the step-by-step process of applying CBT to individual and group sessions. A toolbox will be provided to assist the individuals you work with by creating new responses to triggers that will help individuals along the path of recovery beyond the treatment setting. Participants will also be able to identify how to apply CBT in both face-to-face and telehealth sessions.

This virtual training provides 6.5 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Supported Employment Specialist. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
