Cultural Competency Considerations Today : Virtual - July 21,2021

Training Location: Zoom Meeting

Webcam and audio are required for participation.

This virtual training is being sponsored by the HHSC Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Programs. SUD contractors have priority for this training.

Participants will examine the meaning of privilege and briefly explore social determinants of health, multiculturalism, positionality, cultural humility, implicit bias, and the four pillars of social justice. This virtual training is highly interactive with several small group breakout activities. Participants will leave the virtual training with actionable steps and tools to support respectful and responsive behavioral health work.

This virtual training provides 3 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialist, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
