Certified Family Partner (CFP) Endorsement Training: Special Education: February 3-4, 2022

Webcam and audio are required for participation.

This virtual training is being sponsored by HHSC Peer and Recovery Services Programs. Certified Family Partners have priority for this training.

This two-day virtual training is intended to be an overview of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and special education in the public-school system in Texas. Topics include student/parent and school rights and responsibilities, process and timelines, and most importantly, the supportive role of the CFP during this process for families navigating this system.

Eligibility Requirements: Registrants must be Certified Family Partners

This training meets the Texas Certification Board (TCB) Continuing Education (CE) requirements to maintain certification as a Family Partner.

This virtual training provides 12 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialist, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
