Recognizing Eating Disorders and Utilizing Effective Treatment Modalities Virtual: June 9, 2022

This virtual training is being sponsored by the HHSC Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Programs. SUD contractors have priority for this training.

Over 30 million Americans struggle with eating disorders. Recognizing the presence of eating disorders can be very difficult. It can look different within adults and adolescent and can co-occur with other disorders. Knowing something about the levels of care and the possible treatment strategies is imperative for the practicing clinician. This presentation will cover the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for the eating disorders, the clinical differences of an eating disorder in an adolescent versus an adult and the treatment philosophies, treatment levels and the evidence-based treatment approaches for the eating disorders. 

This virtual training provides 2 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Supported Employment Specialist. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
