Housing Boot Camp Virtual: June 22-23, 2022

This virtual training is being sponsored by Money Follows the Person (MFP) Rebalancing Funds. These trainings are intended for supportive housing staff at local mental health authorities and local behavioral health authorities (LMHAs/LBHAs).

This intensive two-day virtual event is designed to impart detailed and specific information that will assist in the implementation of supportive housing programs. Day 1 includes basic information on housing, including why it is important to recovery and how the housing system works. Participants will learn about and practice advocacy skills, with a focus on engaging landlords. The day ends with a session on engaging and working with tenants using case studies and small groups. Day 2 includes detailed information on housing resources, complete with links, and groups will work on developing housing resource maps for their communities. Then, advocacy skills will be practiced with a focus on advocating for the housing resources.

This virtual training provides 13 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialist, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
