Psychological First Aid (PFA) In-Person: August 30, 2022

This in-person training is being sponsored by the HHSC Disaster Behavioral Health Program. Professionals living in Uvalde or around Uvalde, TX have priority for this training.  

Psychological First Aid (PFA) is an evidence-informed acute intervention to help children, adolescents, adults, and families in the immediate aftermath of disaster, mass violence, and other community traumatic events. This training will review the 8 core actions and how to adapt these core actions for our community. Participants will be able to practice the skills used in PFA. We will also be discussing how to support our own well-being as we do this work.

This in-person training provides 5.5 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialist, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
