Street and Community Outreach to People who Use Substances : Virtual - June 17-18, 2021

Training Location: Zoom Meeting

Webcam and audio are required for participation.

This virtual training is being sponsored by the HHSC Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Programs. SUD contractors have priority for this training.

Outreach is an activity of providing support and services to populations who might not otherwise have access to those services. A key component of outreach is the mobility of the provider. Participants will learn the importance in meeting individuals at their respective locations. In addition to delivering services, outreach has an educational role to raise the awareness of existing services and to provide a safe path for the individual to meet more complex needs.

This virtual training provides 6 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialist, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
