Clinical Series - Housing Stability Services Navigating Challenging Situations: July 20, 2023

This virtual training is being sponsored by the Office of Mental Health Coordination. The clinical trainings are intended for staff at LMHAs/LBHAs working on supporting people with mental health conditions in finding, obtaining, and maintaining housing.

Permanent supportive housing programs serve vulnerable individuals who often have complex needs which can create unique clinical challenges for case managers and staff. This session will focus on effective techniques to support person-centered and responsive services to individuals with complex needs (chronic health conditions, co-occurring disorders, hoarding etc.) and addressing underlying and unaddressed trauma. This training will build on foundational knowledge of harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed interventions to provide ensure recovery-oriented approaches to challenges that impact housing tenancy.

This virtual training provides 1.5 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Supported Employment Specialist. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
