This virtual training is being sponsored by the Office of Mental Health Coordination. The clinical trainings are intended for staff at LMHAs/LBHAs working on supporting people with mental health conditions in finding, obtaining, and maintaining housing.

With rapidly increasing rent prices and increased housing barriers for people experiencing homelessness, at times it feels impossible to find a property owner willing to rent to a formerly homeless individual or family, even when supported with rental assistance and services. This session will explore various strategies to recruit and retain partnerships with property owners through excellent customer service and mutually beneficial relationships. Trainers will also provide tips for supporting people experiencing homelessness to overcome common tenant screening barriers, such as poor credit and eviction histories.

This virtual training provides 1.5 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Supported Employment Specialist. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
