Diversity and Inclusion - August 12, 2021

This virtual training is being sponsored by HHSC Peer and Recovery Services Programs. Peer Specialists have priority for this training.

Via Hope developed Peer Practice: Diversity & Inclusion for Peer Specialists to understand how diversity can show up in recovery and transformation, to become aware of and create strategies to address personal and organizational biases, and to learn how to build inclusive support groups. Participants will also explore the importance of diversity and inclusivity in the peer support field as a whole. This is a one-day interactive training that will focus on sharing information, cultivating self-awareness, and collaboration.

Eligibility Requirements:

Ideal applicants for this training include only persons who are currently employed as Peer Specialists at their agency. Therefore, you must attest to the following:

• I am currently employed.

• I currently work as a Peer Specialist in the field of peer support at my agency.

Once your Statement of Attestation has been uploaded to your www.centralizedtraining.com account, it will be reviewed and you will be notified via an email if you are accepted to be a participant in the workshop.The Statement of Attestation is made available to you on your Centralized Training account once you have registered.

This virtual training provides 5.5 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialist, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
