Developing Excellence in Recovery Coaching : February 22-23, 2022

Training Location: Zoom Meeting

Webcam (preferably not a cell phone/tablet) and audio are required for participation.

This virtual training is being sponsored by HHSC Peer and Recovery Services Programs.

This 2-day training is designed to help reinforce and strengthen Peer Recovery Coach skills. It provides coursework and CEUs toward RSPS/PRSS/MHPS recertification. 13 CEs provided.

Eligibility Requirements: Registrants must be Peer Specialists to attend.

Course Learning Objectives include:

• how to self-assess your coaching skills,

• discussing and practicing active listening and asking good questions,

• appropriate storytelling and self-disclosure, and

• understanding components of trauma-informed coaching and how to best utilize the first five coaching sessions.

This virtual training provides 13 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialist, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
