Effective Documentation for Peer Specialist Supervisors: Supervising for Values-Based Peer Documentation Virtual: August 12, 2025

This virtual training is being sponsored by HHSC Peer and Recovery Services Programs.

Eligibility Requirements: Registrants must be Supervisors of Peer Specialists (PSS).

This interactive training is designed for peer supervisors who support peer specialists in creating documentation that reflects both compliance standards and the foundational values of peer support. Supervisors will explore how to guide staff in writing documentation that fulfills Medicaid and agency requirements while maintaining a strengths-based, non-clinical, person-centered approach.

Participants will examine how documentation practices can either support or undermine peer values, and how supervisors can model, coach, and reinforce practices that elevate the voice and experience of the person served. The training will include examples of effective supervision strategies, tools for coaching documentation skills, and ways to support collaborative documentation practices that build trust and mutuality in peer relationships.

By the end of the session, peer supervisors will have clear strategies to support their teams in producing high-quality documentation that is both compliant and deeply rooted in peer support principles.
