Effective Group Facilitation for Peer Specialists and CFPs (Two-Part Series) Virtual: November 11 and November 13, 2025

This virtual training is being sponsored by HHSC Peer and Recovery Services Programs.

Eligibility Requirements: Registrants must be currently certified Peer Specialists (MHPS or RSPS) and/or Certified Family Partners (CFPs). Please ensure you are able to attend both sessions (November 11 and November 13, 2025) prior to enrolling. You will only receive credit/CEUs if you attend both dates.

Course Description: Build Confidence. Boost Participation. Promote Connections. Maximize Impact. Ever planned a group no one showed up for? Had a session go off the rails? You’re not alone—and you’re not unprepared anymore. This dynamic training gives you the real-world tools to: Plan and lead powerful, peer-centered groups, manage tricky group dynamics with confidence, recruit participants and keep them coming back.

Four distinct areas of focus will be explored in this series:

  • The Facilitator’s Game Plan: Plan, Lead, and Wrap with Confidence;

  • Navigating Group Dynamics and Achieving Goals;

  • The Peer Facilitator’s Topic Toolkit: Creative Approaches, Resource Guides,

  • and Hands-On Learning; and

  • Community engagement: How to facilitate focus groups and listening sessions.

Cancellations, Substitutions and Refunds Policy:

Live In Person/Virtual Trainings:

• A colleague may be substituted at no extra charge if Centralized Training is notified at least two business days before the training.

• Requests for refunds for an in-person/virtual workshop must be received 72 hours prior to the workshop.
