Ethical Considerations for Peer Specialists - August 29, 2022

This virtual training is being sponsored by HHSC Peer and Recovery Services Programs.

This 3-hour virtual training provides opportunity for peer specialists to deepen their understanding of ethical decision-making through the use of scenarios, discussion, and guidance from experienced peer specialist trainers. This training satisfies the Ethics requirement for recertification of Texas peer specialists (MHPS & RSPS).

Eligibility Requirements: Registrants must be certified Peer Specialists to attend.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify different areas of consideration when making ethical decisions
  • Apply the Texas Peer Specialist Code of Ethics to different ethical situations
  • Recognize a course of action for receiving support when an ethical situation does arise

 

This virtual training provides 3 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialist, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
