Nurturing Program (NP) Facilitator Training Virtual: November 18-20, 2024

Due to the high demand of this virtual training, please do not register if you have completed it in the past. It is intended for those who never completed a NP Facilitator training before.

There are no pre-requisites for attendance at this workshop. This training targets direct service staff and is not intended to follow a train the trainer model. The three-day virtual training focuses on understanding the philosophy of nurturing parenting, assessing high risk parenting beliefs and environments, creating competency-based parenting lessons and programs tailored to meet the individual parenting needs of families, and implementing programs at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of prevention. Participants will also learn how to monitor the success of families through on-going process evaluation strategies designed to measure the attainment of parenting knowledge and skills. Participants will experience hands on approach to implementing home based, group based and a combination home-based and group-based program models; learn how to administer and score the online version of the Adult-Adolescent Parenting Inventory (AAPI-2) and how to select the best Nurturing Program model for your agency.

Mandatory NP Curriculum Requirement:

This training requires you to have Nurturing Program curriculum available to you for the duration of the 3-day training (as well as after to implement the program properly).

Registration includes the necessary curriculum. At the request of the Family Development Resources, Inc (developers of Nurturing Parenting) the curriculum is now included in the registration regardless of if you or your agency already has. The intent is to ensure each participant has their own set of curricula to use during the 3-day training and post.

Upon registration you will be required to provide the following information on your Centralized Training account no later than November 1, 2024.

• If you plan to use it with parents, youth, or both

• What address and telephone number can the curriculum be shipped to

Cancellations, Substitutions and Refunds Policy:

Live In Person/Virtual Trainings:

• A colleague may be substituted at no extra charge if Centralized Training is notified at least two business days before the training.

• Requests for refunds for an in-person/virtual workshop must be received 72 hours prior to the workshop.

Self-Paced Online Trainings:

• No refunds are offered for self-paced online trainings.
