Person-Centered Recovery Planning

This self-paced online course meets the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Adult Mental Health (AMH) training requirements.

This self-paced online course will cover Person-Centered Recovery Planning. The recovery movement emphasizes that everyone has the right to pursue a meaningful life in the community, regardless of identity or health conditions. Research over the past 40 years has shown that with proper resources, many people can recover, live independently, find meaningful work, and maintain relationships. Despite this, there is still confusion about how recovery-oriented care differs from traditional approaches. These modules will focus on strategies for building trusting partnerships, adopting a strengths-based approach, and creating individualized Person-Centered Recovery Plans (PCRPs) that prioritize the individual's goals and needs.

Topics covered include:

  • Recovery and recovery-oriented care

  • Partnership in person-centered recovery planning

  • Recovery plan documentation
