Peer Practice Diversity and Inclusion: November 1, 2021

This virtual training is being sponsored by HHSC Peer and Recovery Services Programs. This training is only for Peer Specialists.

Via Hope developed Peer Practice: Diversity & Inclusion for Peer Specialists to understand how diversity can show up in recovery and transformation, to become aware of and create strategies to address personal and organizational biases, and to learn how to build inclusive support groups. Participants will also explore the importance of diversity and inclusivity in the peer support field as a whole. This is a one-day interactive training that will focus on sharing information, cultivating self-awareness, and collaboration.

Eligibility Requirements: Registrants must be currently employed as Peer Specialists at their agency.

This virtual training provides 5.5 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialist, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
