Peer Specialist Whole Health and Resiliency Virtual: July 18-19, 2022

This virtual training is being sponsored by HHSC Peer and Recovery Services Programs. Peer Specialists have priority for this training.

This two-day virtual training teaches Mental Health Peer Specialists (MHPS) the relationship between physical and mental health and the importance of treating the whole person, not just their mental health. It offers a foundation in Whole Health concepts and planning tools for MHPS to use as part of their daily work. MHPS learn how to help consumers to set and achieve health goals and how to help them build resiliency by practicing the “relaxation response,” an easy to learn exercise that help individuals effectively deal with stress.

Eligibility Requirements: Ideal applicants for this training include persons who are currently employed as peer specialists at their agency. 

This virtual training provides 12 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialist, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
