Quality Standards Assessment for Residential Care: An Applied Framework for Quality Improvement and Supporting Effective Practice with Youth and Families Virtual Session 1: February 11, 2022

This virtual training is being sponsored by HHSC Residential Treatment Center (RTC) Project. This training is only for RTCs and their partnering agencies.

The Quality Standards Assessment is part of an initiative to enhance the quality of care provided in residential programs for children and youth. The Quality Standards Assessment is an applied framework for residential staff and leadership that provides guidelines for effective practices from admission, service planning and implementation, through discharge and aftercare. Participants will learn how to use the Quality Standards Assessment to support care quality and continuous service improvement.

Session 1: During this session, participants will learn how to complete the Quality Standards Assessment and to utilize it to inform practice and program improvements. This session includes a combination of brief informational presentations, group discussion, and interactive exercises.

Eligibility Requirements: This session is open to all residential care staff and partner agencies.

This virtual training provides 2.5 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialist, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of this virtual training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
