Effective Substance Misuse Treatment is far more than just intakes, groups, and treatment sessions. Effective treatment includes looking at the entire client and inviting them to think and explore new ways of interacting in everyday situations. This may be at the doctor’s office, with other service providers, or even in accessing the necessities of housing, employment, or other resources. What seems simple to us as providers may require much smaller steps for our clients. This class introduces professionals to Solution-Focused Practice as a language and way of thinking about and interacting with our clients to help them create a preferred future. Hands-on examples and skills will be provided.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will understand the difference between problem-solving and solution-building.
2. Participants will identify 3 case management skills they can immediately begin using with clients.
3. Participants will understand the role of questions in case management and tailoring resources to clients.

• A colleague may be substituted at no extra charge if Centralized Training is notified at least two business days before the training.
• Requests for refunds for an in-person/virtual workshop must be received 72 hours prior to the workshop.
