Registrants must be certified Peer Specialist Supervisors (PSS).
Effective peer supervision begins with a strong understanding of the values that make peer support unique. This training explores how supervisors can create environments that protect and strengthen the integrity of peer support while supporting quality services and positive outcomes. Participants will deepen their understanding of All Recovery Pathways, recognize the expertise that comes from lived experience, and learn how recovery principles should guide program design, supervision, and service delivery.
The course also examines the distinct role of the Peer Support Specialist and the importance of preventing "peer drift," the gradual movement away from peer values toward traditional helping roles. Through discussion and practical application, supervisors will gain strategies to preserve the mutual, person-centered, and recovery-oriented nature of peer support while fostering accountability, professional growth, and recovery-focused organizational culture.
