This course is recommended for those providing direct services to people in need of housing and supports. The course contains three modules. Module 1 will provide an overview of why housing is so important and discusses housing barriers for people with disabilities and behavioral health conditions; and introduces strategies for addressing these barriers. Module 2 will look at the challenges those in poverty face in finding affordable housing, including people on Supplemental Security Income. In Module 3, we explore how to support tenancy, especially for those experiencing serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
This course provides 1.25 hour of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialist, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of this online course, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.
