Understanding the Basics of Medications for Serious Mental Illness Virtual: May 2, 2025

This virtual training will review the signs and symptoms of psychosis as well as evidence-based recommended approaches to care in children, adolescents, and adults. You will be introduced to the basic pharmacologic principles that guide treatment choices; as well as which symptoms medications treat and which they do not. Common side effects and when to seek clinical care will also be discussed.  The training is specifically tailored for staff working with individuals who may be affected by psychosis, including those with only a basic level of experience with behavioral health conditions.
